STEM careers and industries are vital to the Massachusetts economy. STEM Week is an opportunity to highlight these career opportunities and the pathways that students can take to thrive in these jobs. This year鈥檚 STEM week theme is 鈥淪TEM starts now.鈥 

Registration is required for all events.  

STEM Alumni Panel

Monday, Oct 21 | Noon to 1 p.m. | Virtual via Zoom

Join us for a virtual panel discussion with Bristol STEM alumni as they share their stories of success and discuss how their experiences at Bristol have helped shape their STEM pathways.  

 

Global Warming and Climate Change: A Panel Discussion

Tuesday, Oct 22 | 11 a.m. to noon | Attleboro Campus

Join us for a conversation with representatives from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MA DEP) and Bristol's Professor Robert Rak as they discuss the Global Climate Solutions Act and the current impact of climate change in Massachusetts.  

 

STEM Movie Night

Wednesday, Oct 23 | 6 to 9 p.m. | Taunton Center

Join us for a night of fun at our Taunton Center for STEM Movie Night! Enjoy an engaging, STEM-related film, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, while connecting with fellow students and faculty. Refreshments will be provided! 

 

Speaker Event: Dr. Dan Gries 鈥 The Use of Mathematics and Coding to Create Art 

Thursday, Oct. 24  | 11 a.m. to noon | Fall River Campus, H209

Join us for an engaging STEM Week presentation that goes beyond STEM disciplines to explore how mathematics and coding can be used to create incredible works of art! Dr. Dan Gries, a Mathematics and Computer Science educator and artist from New Haven, CT, will share how he blends his background in math with his knowledge in coding to produce stunning digital prints, pen plotter images, physical installations and more.

Join us for an inspiring STEM Week presentation by Bristol Professor David Amiel, as he highlights the stories, achievements and contributions of women in the field of astronomy.
